[NEWS] Kim Hyun Joong Official Statement Regarding Alleged Assault

Through his agency, KeyEast, Kim Hyunjoong has finally broken his silence regarding the alleged assault of his girlfriend.

His company, KeyEast, revealed in a statement,

Firstly, we would like to apologise for releasing this statement later than expected as there were many details regarding the situation that we had to clarify. More than anything, we would first like to bow our heads in apology to the people who care about Kim Hyunjoong. We have caused you anxiety and concern.

After confirming the details with him, it is true that the two people have known each other 2012, but have only been dating for the past couple of months. During this period, they have been involved in serious arguments, and it is true that some of these arguments transpired into physical fights. However, the story about him inflicting repeated assault for the span of 2 months is false.

Even though they have been involved in physical fights, the rib fracture the victim suffered was not a result of these fights, but of an earlier incident where they were playing around. She was able to go out with her friends the next day normally, and did not even realise that she had had an injury.

KeyEast have also expressed regret that the stories released in articles have been exaggerated. They also added that they believed that the truth would be revealed soon and are assisting whole-heartedly in the ongoing investigations.

In other news, Kim Hyunjoong left today for Bangkok for his world tour, “2014 Kim Hyunjoong World Tour - Fantasy in Bangkok”.

Kim Hyun Joong to make a Japanese comeback this June

Those of you who've been waiting for Kim Hyun Joong to return to his singer roots will be glad to hear that he will be making a Japanese comeback on June 18!

Japanese media outlet Sankei Sports stated on the 28th, "Kim Hyun Joong will release his new song 'Hot Sun' on June 18, making his comeback in one year in Japan."

According to the report, "Hot Sun" is a rock number produced by Steven Lee. The other double title track "Timing" also includes a rap featuring byAAA's Mitsuhiro Hidaka. The album will come with plenty of options for you to choose from including a regular edition and five limited editions.

He will also greet Japanese fans before the release at the 'Generation of Youth' event in Pacifico Yokohama on May 31.

Kim Hyun Joong 김현중 Says No More to Uniforms and Flower Boy Roles

Kim Hyun Joong revealed that he wants to act out realistic characters in the future.

In an interview that took place in a café near Samcheong-dong, Kim Hyung Joong shook his head and he claimed that sweet and elegant characters do not suit him very much.

Kim Hyun Joong recently transformed into a macho man ‘Shin Jung Tae’ in KBS 2TV’s The Age of Feeling, setting aside his ‘sugar boy’ image from Boys Over Flowers and Playful Kiss.

When asked if he will take on another ‘flower boy’ role in the future, he answered, “I don’t think I’ll ever wear a uniform. It doesn’t look good on me anymore and I would feel ashamed. I was able to do it in Boys Over Flowersbecause of the storyline and I looked younger back then, but not anymore. I want to take on roles that suit my age.”

Then does he want to take on a ‘company director’ or ‘manager’ role?

He shook his head and said, “I don’t think a manager role fits me either. I want to play a natural character. Of course a story about a company director might be a good story. But I would like to act out a story that is likely to happen in real life. I want to act out a character who is so real that he might appear in a documentary.”

Kim Hyun Joong then confessed that he enjoys watching documentaries. 

He said, “I really like them. I study acting by watching them. They show how people live their lives.”

He continued to explain, “I don’t study acting by watching movies with great actors. I know I won’t be able to act like them, because I’m not at that age. My acting will not seem genuine if I’m curious about my acting. I feel and learn many things as I watch documentaries. What if I got a role as a restaurant owner? I could make use of the restaurant owner that I saw from documentaries, such as his voice and the way he moves.”

Kim Hyun Joong was not an actor simply wants to appear cool on screen but the one who wanted to be genuine in his acting. 

“My strength? I don’t have such a thing,” he said with laughter and added, “I can’t lie. I don’t want to lie about my feelings. I honestly say what I like and don’t like. If I don’t say those things, I might start disliking someone. So it might take a longer time for me to get close to people but once I get close, they accept me for who I am.”

Kim Hyun Joong is currently taking a break after filming The Age of Feeling and planning one a world tour concert. 

He said, “The world tour concert schedule has not been set yet. But if it works out as planned, I will be able to visit many places. I’m also thinking of releasing a new album. It might be released before the world cup starts.”
