[News] 800 fans gather at Brazil airport to greet Kim Hyun Joong 김현중

Singer and actor Kim Hyun Joong was greeted by 800 fans when he arrived in Brazil.

According to his agency, Key East, on February 24, Kim arrived in Brazil through Sao Paulo International airport. This day, hundreds of Brazilian fans waited for Kim’s arrival.

Kim left for Brazil to represent other Korean singers for the event, 50th anniversary year of immigration between Korea and Brazil. When the news of Kim coming has spread, 800 Brazilian fans came to the airport in the early morning to greet him. Kim greeted his fans with a bright smile.

On February 24 at 50th anniversary year of immigration between Korea and Brazil, Kim will be performing “Breakdown” and “Lucky Guy.” Later on, he will travel to Lima in Peru to hold his solo fan meeting.

Kim Hyun Joong’s official Weibo posted new pictures on January 29. Under the short title, ‘In the middle of winter’, the picture series showed Kim Hyun Joong bracing the winter cold head-on.

In one picture, Kim Hyun Joong is seen in full scuba gear and sitting over the edge of an icy lake as he looks like he’s getting ready to jump in.
 

Though the photos came with no explanation, it can be assumed that the photos came from the shoot of his upcoming drama, City Conquest.

A special concert to celebrate the 50th anniversary Korean immigration to Brazil will take place at the end of next month.

The 2K13 Feel Korea celebration will take place in Brazil’s Sao Paulo from February 23 through 25.

Funded and supported by Korea’s Ministry of Culture Sports and Tourism, the festival will also include a makeup school in which participants can learn beauty tips and trends of current Korean stars, as well as a dance school, in order to learn the popular Gangnam Style dance.
 

The highlight of the festival will be a special concert featuring Kim Hyun Joong, Baechigi and Ongals on February 24.

On January 21, a collage of photos was uploaded on Kim Hyun Joong′s official Facebook page, with a caption reading, ′Flower? Beggar′

In the photos, Kim Hyun Joong is shown with disheveled hair and black soot on his face, wearing gloves with holes in them while holding an empty can.

Despite the new look, fans showed they could see the good looks shining underneath.
 

They commented, "Have you ever seen such a good-looking beggar?" "Wonder what he′s shooting" and "His smile still shines."

The singer-turned-actor has been touring Japan in his national tour since January 6.

Kim Hyun Joong is staying on with Bae Yong Jun and his agency.

Kim Hyun Joong has signed on with Bae Yong Jun’s Key East agency once again after the singer/actor first signed on with Key East in June of 2010.

Despite there still being ample time before his current contract expires, Kim Hyun Joong signaled his intent to continue with the Key East family, leading to the extension of his contract.

Kim Hyun Joong is viewed by Key East as a “successor” to Bae Yong Jun as the next-generation hallyu star and the continued partnership is expected to take Kim Hyun Joong to new heights in Asia.

Kim Hyun Joong has been keeping busy with both his music and acting career and is currently shooting as the lead of the drama City Conquest. The drama has already been picked up by KBS and will likely premiere in March of next year.
